How can EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER® Help Your Horse?

Laminitis Founder Hoof Lameness
The beauty of this technology is that any horse person can rehab these potentially career-ending injuries in literally days using the EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER®! We have never failed. The Leg Saver accelerates hoof growth, draws out abscesses, and kills infection.

This is all accomplished by accelerating the blood flow to the hoof with our anti-bacterial waveform. An electro-pad is placed on the point of the frog and the second pad on the Ting Point (PC-9), which is located just above the bulb of the heel (low on the rear of the pastern). We use DMSO gel on the point of the frog. This treatment should last 1 – 2 hours or until the horse is sound (for more information please refer to the Instructional Manual and DVD). Amazing accelerated hoof growth is achieved with the use of the LEG SAVER. We can grow an average of 3/8 of an inch of quality hoof per month on horses with a history of poor-quality hoof and very slow growth.

One of the first horses that we were able to help was Uptown Mike, a standard bred horse at Fraser Downs trained by Bill Davis. Bill had claimed him for a bottom-claiming price because he had asthma. Bill thought we could help him with the LEG SAVER lung treatment. We did, and he won 2 or 3 races while moving up in price. Then he came up real lame after a race. In fact, he was dead lame and could not walk. We thought it must be a puss pocket so we started treating that day and kept it on him 24 hours a day for 3 days. The abscess came out 3 days later and it was big! His whole hoof must have been full of puss! Bill decided to jog him as he was really sound he wanted to get all the infection out. Bill had entered Uptown Mike in a race 3 days later at a rather large increase in claiming price. He won by 11 lengths. Bill later lost the horse in Edmonton but before that, he won a lot of races with this horse that performed very well with the help of the LEG SAVER.

This is the only comprehensive treatment that works for the horse’s hoof. It is impossible to kill infection and create blood flow to the hoof with any other system.

Hind End Soreness in Horses
Hind end soreness is the main cause of most front end injuries and lameness for performance horses.

When a horse has severe pain in his hindquarter he will compensate by short striding with his back legs.

This problem really puts more stress on his stifles, hocks, fetlocks, suspensory and hooves.

The front legs can also be compromised, as the horse will oftentimes start shifting more weight onto the front of the limbs, which creates a pulling action by the front legs.

This shifting of weight and pulling action can cause Bowed Tendons, Check Ligaments, Hoof injuries, Bucked Shins, Splints, inflamed fetlocks or knees (bone chips) as well as Sesamoiditise.

Treatment is accomplished by placing the pads on a number of muscle groups on the hindquarters (as shown in the instructional manual and DVD) using the Gall Bladder and Bladder Ting Points.  Even though the horse does not have a Gall Bladder it does have a Gall Bladder meridian, which runs through most of the muscle groups in the hindquarter.  Hind-end soreness is very responsive to this treatment.

This is an area that all trainers and owners must not ignore.  If you can keep your horse free of hind-end pain your horse will perform amazingly well.  It will also keep the other problems at bay.

Whether you are involved in Dressage, Grand Prix Jumpers, Race Horses (Thoroughbred or Standardbred), Barrel Racing, Reigning, Endurance, Cutting, Polo or any other performance horses this MUST BE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT AREA OF CONCERN.

Whirl Bone Treatment (Sacroiliac):
This is the most important and successful treatment for hindquarter pain.  After placing the pads for the Whirl Bone treatments, we place 2 to 3 pads directly on the spinal chord using DMSO gel (see Instructional Manual and DVD). This treatment eliminates all the pain in the area including the Sacroiliac.

Hamstring (SemiTendinosis) MUSCLE:
We have found that this particular soreness is not very common in the average horse but it’s quite common in horses that have the ability for exceptional driving power with their back legs.  An electro pad is placed on either side of the spinal chord at the top of the tail using the Bladder Ting Point and Meridian located on the rear coronet band and run the current through this muscle group for one hour (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  This treatment totally relieves all pain and soreness in these muscles.

SHOULDER PAIN:
This injury is caused by severe hindquarter pain.  We treat the center of the shoulder and the Small Intestine Ting Point (see Instructional Manual and DVD) that runs directly through the shoulder for one hour.  The pain will be gone.

THE WORST ADVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED FOR A LAME OR INJURED HORSE WAS TO GIVE THEM STALL REST.  ALL THAT EVER DID WAS DELAY THE HEALING PROCESS.  THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS, BUT VERY FEW.  PLEASE CONTACT US WITH THE DETAILS OF YOUR HORSE’S INJURY.  WE ARE HERE TO HELP.

ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR VETERINARIAN REGARDING THE PROPER CARE FOR YOUR HORSE.

Horse Health

Proper Feeding:
All you horse people, stop feeding your horses sweet feeds, pellets or any other form of processed food.

Do your horse this big favour and you will see tremendous health benefits down the road.

Horses will eat anything that tastes good—they are no different than your kids.  Sugar is not good for you your kids and it is not good for your horses.

We took a number of the most popular processed feeds to a laboratory that does testing for racehorses and other sporting events.  All of the processed feeds had considerable amounts of MOULD.

Mould becomes very toxic during digestion.

We’ve found that our horses raced much better when fed oats and hay (lots of hay) with small amounts of other natural grains.

Genghis Khan’s Army conquered half of the world on horseback.  These horses were totally grass fed.  Genghis did not believe in feeding horses grains at all.  His horses were stronger; had more stamina and durability.  All of the armies he defeated fed their horses a lot of grain.  I’m not saying that this is only reason he was so successful but it was like a revelation when I read about him and his accomplishments.  Genghis also believed in acupuncture for his horses.  (Historians found a lot of drawings and artwork to support this in addition to the written information.)

Lung Bleeding Or Eiph:
This condition can be eliminated in a very short time.  It’s an amazing treatment for racehorses.  We have a 90% success rate.  We actually stimulate blood flow to the lungs, which allows better blood flow to the tissue thereby strengthening the lungs.  Electro pads are placed on the Lung Ting Points on the front coronet bands as well as two pads on two accupoints on the spinal chord that are connected to lung function (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  We treat for one hour on the day before a race.

You must check the rear end for muscle soreness as severe pain, which causes stress, is one of the main reasons horses bleed from their lungs.

If I were an athlete and blood filled my lungs whenever I ran hard and it kept me from breathing properly it would be very stressful for me!  We have treated horses that would get so upset going to the starting gate that they would tye-up and have to be scratched.  One lung treatment and everything changed.  All the horses ran just super! One in particular was a horse called GET SMART owned by 505 Farms and trained by Sid Martin.  They scratched him twice on post-parade for tying-up.  He was a bad bleeder and always ran on a full load of Lasix.  Sid asked us to treat him.  We examined the horse and found that he was incredibly sore in his hind end.  We got rid of the rear end soreness in one treatment and he started to gallop in the morning like a champion!  Sid and the gallop boy were really impressed; usually the horse did not want to go to the track in the morning.  We treated the lungs the day before his next race.  He won handily and then another one and then he won a Stakes race!

 Azoturia Or Tying-Up:
This dreaded soreness would be eliminated in 1 or 2 treatments.   You will be amazed with the results!  We treat three organs through their Ting Points (in this order; Kidney, Liver and Spleen).  This treatment never fails.  We are 100% successful.  The reason we treat in this order is that all the additives, drugs and junk food that these horse are given places a burden on the first two organs (kidney and liver) and they become severely out of balance and overloaded which results in toxins being released into the blood stream.  These toxins end up getting stored in the muscles, which creates cramping.  It’s important to treat the kidneys first to flush out the drugs and additives that have settled there.  Once the kidneys are clean, we can address the liver where the drug residue and toxins are stored.  These toxins are released and flushed out by the kidney.  The liver cannot be flushed while the kidneys are full of drug residue and toxins.  Once these vital organs are cleansed, the spleen is treated to release oxygenated blood into the blood stream, which is then carrier to the muscles and the muscles, in turn, release the toxins that are causing the muscle cramping (i.e. Azoturia).

This is a very basic cleansing process used by hundreds of thousands of humans to detoxify their bodies.

Arthritis:
A lot of horses suffer with arthritis in fetlocks (ankles), knees and hocks.  The Leg Saver kills the arthritis and thickens the fluid in the joints.  I know this because I have successfully treated a lot of horses with arthritis.  A lot of them have had an operation on their joints for chip removal.  Any horse that has been operated on should be treated twice a week post-operation to thicken the fluid and halt the advancement of arthritis into the joint.  All of the treated horses became sound and stayed sound.  The ailment has to be caught in the early stages because trying to treat a joint that has been ravaged with arthritis for a long time is very difficult.  The horses that I have treated successfully were in the early stages of the disease.  I have also treated horses in very advanced stages of arthritis and while I did not cure them I was able to make their life a lot easier.

I have successfully treated severe arthritis pain in my own wrist and fingers and it is gone!  The doctors wanted to fuse my wrist because I couldn’t use it for anything.  Opening a door with my right hand was impossible.  I had to become left handed with my computer mouse and a whole lot of other things.  I now have total use of my wrist and fingers and I am totally pain free in my wrist and fingers.  Many of my clients use it on themselves with a lot of success as well.

Colic, Stomach Ulcers  & Parasites:
This is a very simple treatment that works every time.  For Colic treat the Stomach Ting Point and Large Intestine Ting Point at the same time for at least an hour or until the horse shows improvement. Walk while treating if possible. For Stomach Ulcers treat the same Ting Points for an hour twice a week.

Parasites:
We treat the Large Intestine and Small Intestine Ting Points (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  Some times we will also treat the Stomach Ting Point but only when the infestation is substantial.  Parasites cannot live in an Electrical Field.  This treatment must be repeated every seven days for a month as there is usually a 7-day incubation period for the larva.

Immune System Stimulation:
The first time this treatment was actually used successfully was in South Africa on a virus called the African Horse Sickness.  Apparently 35% of the horses that contract this virus die, usually from too much water in their lungs.  This treatment is successful because we are able to treat the organs with the Ting Points that are linked to the Immune System.  We acquired the protocols for this treatment from some of the veterinarians that we have worked with over the years.  We start with the Large Intestine & Liver Ting Point, then the Lung and Spleen Ting Points and lastly the Heart & the Bladder Ting Points for 30 minutes each.

Many of us use this treatment to increase stamina and endurance in our horses. The treatment should be applied 4 days prior the event.

Whoever you are working with on your horse should be able to tell you:

  • What the chances are that their diagnosis, treatment or therapy will be successful
  • Estimated cost for the treatment.

Ask for this.

We feel this our responsibility to inform the client.

Crooked Head or Shaking:
Treating the poll which is located right behind the ears on the neck will eliminate this problem.  A pad is placed on both sides of the bridal path and the Bladder Ting Points, which are located on the rear coronet bands (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  This treatment should last for at least one hour.  It may be a great cure for a headache.

Horse Injuries
Bowed tendon & check ligaments or supensory: This particular injury was the reason I started using Micro-Current in rehabilitating my racehorse’s bowed tendon.  Since that time a lot has happened.  We are now able to treat almost any injury that plagues the athletic horse.  We have been so successful in treating Bowed Tendons and Check Ligaments that it boggles the mind.  It is not easy and it does take some time but if you persevere you will bring your horse back to good health.  Small vessels transport blood to and from the tendon.  We stimulate blood flow inside the tendon or ligament (see Instructional Manual and DVD).

My own horse was the first horse to completely heal from a damaged tendon.  It was then that I realized the power and potential of EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER® technology.

The second horse I treated was Spartacus LMN a Standard bred horse for Bill Davis at Fraser Downs. Spartacus was headed for retirement at the suggestion of the vets.  He had bowed so many times on both front legs that no one could remember the details.

These were the worst looking legs I have seen on any horse.  The first time I examined him I found that his hindquarters were very painful.  We treated that for 2 days and got rid of all the soreness there.  We started treating his legs for one hour a day and icing after treating for ½ hour.  The legs started to show some improvement so I told Bill that I wanted to treat in the morning before he went out to jog.  That was a good idea as the legs really showed remarkable improvement.  We treated for 3 weeks and he was very sound so Bill started to speed up his training.  Bill entered Sparky in a Qualifying Race.  We had to be aware of his hindquarters because they would become quite sore every time he had a fast workout or race.

Three weeks later Sparky won a qualifying race and was now ready to start racing again!  In his first race he came in 3rd place after being parked out most of the way.  A week later he came in 2nd.  The following week he won!  He raced for 4 more years.  He won another 25 races with a number of 2nds and 3rds.

Sparky and I became good friends.  He seemed very cognizant of the fact that I was helping him.  Sparky has been retired to stud now and he’s enjoying his retirement (read Bill Davis’s testimonial and you’ll get some idea of how successful we were).
(Bill Davis Testimonial)

When using the LEG SAVER on damaged tendons, ligaments or suspensories do not sweat or poultice the injury as this undermines the healing process that is being generated by the LEG SAVER.  You will be compromising the recovery.  Sweating and poulticing soften tendons and ligaments, which must be kept tight in order to heal in an orderly fashion.  Heat is not good for joints or ligaments in human athletes; it’s not good for horses either.  Hence the recommended icing after each LEG SAVER treatment.

Stifle:
This is another injury that can be prevented by paying attention to hindquarter soreness or lameness.  EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER® has the only comprehensive treatment protocol for horses with stifle injuries with the exception of injecting with a drug or acid.  But injections offer only short-term relief and create long-term consequences.  Anything that is foreign to the horse’s body ends up in the liver, kidney or hoof and creates other problems down the road.

Barrel Racers and Standard bred Race horses will find the LEG SAVER indispensable.  You will keep the Stifles sound and the performances will be consistently better.

This treatment is easy and very responsive in just a couple of treatments.  A pad is placed on the inside and outside of the stifle and joined with a stifle wire so that they are directly opposite each other.  Another pad is placed on the Stomach Ting Point (this meridian runs right through the stifle).  A water-base adhesive is used to hold the pads on the inside and outside of the stifle (see Instructional Manual and DVD).

Knee:
We have designed a knee wrap that allows us to run our therapeutic waveform through the knee joint.  We kill the infection (arthritis), thicken the fluid and repair any damage to the knee joint.  We have sometimes been able to dissolve chips in the knee and ankle joints, but only in a few cases.  A pad is placed on the lower joint at the front of the knee and another pad on each of the slabs on the rear sides (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  Every time we check a horse with a knee problem it has severe rear end soreness.  If you are going to treat a knee or fetlock be sure you treat for hindquarter soreness.

Osslets and Fetlocks
: This is another injury caused by severe hindquarter pain. Treat both sides of the fetlock using the Neoprene Fetlock wrap with a large pad on both sides of the fetlock using DMSO gel.  You will kill the pain immediately and the size of the Osslet will diminish and eventually vanish.  Owners and trainers have had vets tap a number of fetlocks before and after and found in all cases that the fluid in the joint really does become thicker and more slippery after LEG SAVER treatments.  This is very healthy for the joint and will aid in the recovery from any injury.  We have had some success in treating bone chips in the fetlocks and knees.  After treating for a couple of weeks the chips are gone.  The LEG SAVER must be dissolving these chips.  We have not done enough of them yet to make any claims but it sure looks encouraging.

Hocks:
If anyone has watched a horse with severe hindquarter pain they will see the horse’s rear hoofs jabbing into the ground.  This puts such a stress on the hock it’s a wonder that there are not more hock injuries.  Sometimes we are called too late to treat the hock; there is so much damage that nothing can repair it.

Treatment requires four pads on each hock.  Pads are placed on the wrap in a manner that allows the therapeutic waveform to penetrate the joint from both sides particularly in the lower joint.  We then apply our unique neoprene wrap to the hock.  We only use DMSO gel when treating the hock (see Instructional Manual and DVD).  The length of time for this treatment varies as the amount of damage dictates the length of the treatment.  A minimum of one hour of treating is required followed by a ½ hour of icing.  Owners and trainers have had vets tap the inflamed hock and found the fluid is thin and watery but after 2 treatments the fluid is thick and slippery.  This has been the norm for all joints of the horse.

Make sure your veterinarian knows the problem or injury and gives you their diagnosis.  They have the knowledge to help your horse.

If you have knowledge, information or testimonials to contribute to our product or our website we would love to hear from you!
